All too often analysts are oriented toward computers and not toward business processes and objectives.

InfoMall Canada Inc looks at a business as an organized set of components composed of people, products, market, assets and facilities. For the business to survive, it must have a stated purpose or set of objectives, and it must be able to carry out those objectives in an EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT manner.

It is not adequate to merely state that the objective of a company is just to "make money" any more that we can say that the purpose of a human being is to eat. Monetary assets are required for survival, but they are not necessarily goals in their own right.

Information systems play an ever increasing role at the strategic level. They are an integral part of any company and a main delivery vehicle for products and services.

It is important to embrace technology and utilize it to increase effectiveness and efficiencies.
